The Florence Project (Florence, Phoenix, & Tucson, AZ) – Offering free legal services to adults and children in immigration custody – If you are a lawyer, law student, paralegal, or translator, please volunteer! If not, donate!

The Restoration Project (Phoenix, AZ) – Works with faith-based groups and people of conscience to build a network of mutual support with those being detained and who have been released.

Maricopa County Democratic Party (Phoenix, AZ) – Serving as a central collection point for donations for families being released from immigrant detention, and connecting volunteers with local organizations assisting immigrant families.  Call 602-298-0503 to find out the current days, times, and types of donations needed, and for more info. about volunteering.

Kino Border Initiative (Nogales, AZ) – An advocacy organization that provides shelter and food to asylum seekers

Immigrant Families Together – A “Rapid Response Fund for Immigrants”, founded in June 2018 in response to the inhumane immigration policy separating families at the U.S./Mexico border. They pay bonds for parents in detention and work to reunite them with their children

Al Otro Lado – A binational organization offering legal services to deportees and migrants in Tijuana, Mexico

Pueblos Sin Fronteras – Providing humanitarian aid and shelter to migrants

ActBlue has compiled a list of resources for donation and volunteer work

Human Rights First – A national organization that needs help from lawyers

Kids in Need of Defense – Working to ensure that kids do not appear in immigration court without representation

RAICES – Texas nonprofit offering free/low-cost legal services to immigrant children/families

Texas Civil Rights Project – Seeking volunteers who speak Spanish, Mam, Q’eqchi’ or K’iche’ and have paralegal or legal assistance experience

Urban Justice Center’s Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project – Working to keep families together by connecting refugee families to community support and emergency legal aid – Click on the “Projects” tab

Women’s Refugee Commission – Advocates for the rights and protection of women, children and youth fleeing violence and persecution

AILA – The American Immigration Lawyers Association is seeking immigration lawyers to help with asylum screenings, bond hearings, etc.

Legal Aid Justice Center – Provides unaccompanied minors legal services and representation

Families Belong Together – Part of an international movement calling for an end to cruel and inhumane immigration policies

Donate air miles to Lawyer Moms of America – Making it possible for those who have achieved asylum to leave and make space for new arrivals

CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVES in the AZ Legislature (AZLeg.gov), Congress (GovTrack.us), the Governor (AZGovernor.gov/engage/form/contact-governor-ducey), and the White House (Whitehouse.gov/contact/) to voice your concerns, hold them accountable, and demand that they take a stand to properly process asylum claims, support bills that help reunite children with their parents and prohibit future removals, #AbolishICE, demilitarize the border, and not take money from private prisons/military contractors/arms and weapons manufacturers!  Find scripts for calling at ACLU.org
