Storytelling & Advocacy Workshop

August 7, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 1:30 pm

Monday, August 7th
11:00AM – 1:30PM
Ability360 Center (Classroom B)

Now more than ever, people with disabilities need to be able to tell their stories to policymakers whose decisions will affect our lives.

In this workshop, we’ll explore how stories are foundations for change: political change, as well as change in our own lives and communities. By learning how to FIND, CRAFT, and TELL your own personal story, you can become a better advocate and give voice to the changes you want to see in your life and community.

– Tips and tools for more effective storytelling orally and in writing
– Personal, creative, community, and political avenues for storytelling
– Turning your experiences and passion into an advocacy story
