PLAN/Puente Panel: Recent Changes in Immigration Law/Enforcement
June 11 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Join Phoenix Legal Action Network (PLAN) and Puente Arizona for a discussion of some of the most troubling changes in immigration law and enforcement by the Trump administration and the courts, and the impact of those changes in Arizona.
We’ll discuss issues including family separation, quotas imposed on immigration judges, the Supreme Court’s decision in Jennings v. Rodriguez regarding the right to bond hearings, and the potential de-funding of legal orientation programs. This event is open to all and does not assume any prior knowledge of immigration law.
Drinks, snacks and an opportunity to connect with the speakers and attendees will follow. Attorneys will be asked to make a $25 contribution to PLAN or become a PLAN member, with annual dues of $100, $50, or $25 (with the amount selected by the member). CLE credit is available for attorneys.
Angela Banks, Charles J. Merriam Distinguished Professor of Law at ASU; Carlos Garcia, Executive Director of Puente; Judy Flanagan, Immigration Attorney and PLAN Steering Committee Member; Lauren Kostes, Immigration Attorney at the Florence Project; Ray Ybarra Maldonado, Immigration Attorney.
Open to the public. CLE credit available for attorneys.
