Mohave County Supports End of Police Violence

June 18 @ 5:30 pm - June 19 @ 8:30 pm

Phoenix Mayor, Kate Gallego, has called a special City Council meeting to discuss the latest abuse of power by Phoenix Police Department against a young black family whose 4 year old daughter took a small doll (without the parents knowledge) from a Phoenix dollar store.

The Phoenix Law Enforcement Association (PLEA, the police union) has consistently protected their police officers in cases of abuse of power, so the City Council has been reluctant to “take on PLEA.”

The City Council needs to “break solidarity” with PLEA, and PLEA needs to “break solidarity” with officers abusing their power. This “toxic solidarity” is perpetuating violence against people who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

Watch the video. If you feel outraged by what you see, here are contacts to express your concern, and let them know that Mohave County cares about ending police violence, too.
