Are you interested in learning more about the wildlife that calls our state home and in working for species protection? Join us to learn more about what’s happening with Arizona’s wildlife, upcoming projects and opportunities, and how you can get involved.
On Wednesday, August 9, please join us in Tucson at The Historic Y at 6:00pm to learn how you can help protect Mexican gray wolves! We’ll start the meeting with an update on the “McKittrick Policy,” which until a very recent court decision allowed people who “accidentally” shot an endangered species off the hook for that crime. For example, if the hunter shot a wolf and claimed they thought it was a coyote, the federal government would not prosecute. Now, hunters will be held responsible for knowing exactly which animal they are hunting and they won’t get a free pass for “mistakes.”
Then, at 6:30pm we’ll start a Mexican gray wolf recovery plan update and comment writing workshop. We need you to help protect this important and endangered species by learning about the proposed recovery plan and writing a letter to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service letting them know you expect more of the agency tasked with protecting wildlife.
Please join us on Wednesday, August 9th from 6:00pm-7:30pm in The Historic Y’s first floor conference room located at 738 N. 5th Ave., Tucson.
Our meetings are free and open to the public. Bring a friend!
