Francis the Fox Book Release & Memorial
April 24 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
We have decided to dedicate this book release to late author Hollie Vargas and, due to the nature of her unexpected death, to donate the contributions and donations to a non-profit or charity.
I am still working with Hollie’s family and close friends to determine to which charity we will be donating, and will promptly update you all here afterwards.
The wonderful staff at Bright Side has also volunteered to do a public reading of the book, which we will record and post for those who are unable to attend.
Again, we are NOT selling this book for profit, so if you are looking to purchase some, you are more than welcome to take as many copies as you need.
If you are unable to attend in person, but still want to receive a paperback copy and/or a digital copy, please let me know in a message or in a comment here on the event.
Francis the Fox just moved to the town of Poodleville. He’s excited to start at his new school and make new friends!
However, it’s not quite as easy as he thought…
Join Francis as he learns about the importance of asking first.
Too often children, simply because they are children, are made to feel that they have no say in what happens to them.
Teaching consent from an early age is an important part of educating our children about healthy boundaries. They need to know that their voice matters and they have a choice; likewise, they also need to learn to respect the choices of others.
We invite you to join us, along with Francis the Fox, as we all learn about the importance of things like asking for permission, saying “no,” and asking others for their consent, in order to practice understanding and respecting both our own bodies and the bodies of others.
We are excited to announce the first book in a new series that follows Francis the Fox, as he helps today’s children explore some of the significant, yet sometimes difficult and confusing, topics in a fun, respectful manner.
HUGE shout-outs to both Bright Side Bookshop for hosting our launch event and being so supportive amidst these troubling times.
