MEETING SPEAKERS: Mitzi Epstein, Jennifer Jermaine, LaDawn Stuben
Mitzi Epstein for AZ House is our current member of the Arizona House of Representatives, representing District 18. She was first elected to the chamber in 2016 and now she is seeking reelection. She serves on the ways and means committee and the commerce committee. Mitzi EpsteinSupports Quality Education saying, “Measure what matters. Our students are tested enough! We must also count what prepares students for life, like arts career and technical skills, world languages, and Advanced Placement (AP) courses” while working to Protect public education and empowering parents to be involved in their child’s education. She serves on the ways and means committee and the commerce committee. She believes in growing the Innovation Economy by supporting small business start-ups and continuing to attract companies like Intel and Apple with an educated workforce and reliable infrastructure. She is quoted as saying, “The Innovation Economy will produce quality jobs, with great pay and a ladder for advancement. Jennifer Jermaine for AZ LD18 House has spent over 15 years in the nonprofit industry and is currently the Executive Director of the STAZ Advocacy Network and is a co-founder of Stronger Together AZ, which represents 9,000+ Arizona residents. She also serves as the Executive Director of the We the People Summit, training new activists on the tools and techniques of community organizing. Jennifer DeMarre Jermaine has worked on advocacy on all levels of government in several states, at the federal level, and on the international level. Her background includes advocating for public education, public health, access to healthcare, women’s rights, the Equal Rights Amendment, civil rights, disability rights, eldercare, senior services, and end of life options. Prior to her position with STAZ Advocacy Network, she worked for Steps of Love, the LVA Alumni Association, the Zen Hospice Project, the Arthritis Foundation, the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce, and the San Diego Greenroom Theatre Company. Jennifer holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s in International Business from San Diego State University. (Source: Jennifer Jermain)
LaDawn Stuben is a 5th generation Arizonan, her two kids have attended public school in LD18 since kindergarten. She’s the Executive Pastry Chef at Liberty Market in Gilbert and owns a small home baking business. She’s a passionate advocate for public education and activist fighting for working families.
