Defend Voting Rights in AZ – Committee Hearing!
January 24 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm
NOTE TIME CHANGE! The hearing starts at 10 am – arrive 15 minutes early and meet us by the bell between the Arizona House and Arizona Senate buildings.
Our voting rights are under attack! Multiple bills have been filed that would put even more obstacles in the way of people trying to participate in our democracy. The first committee hearing is Thursday, and we need to pack the room!
This is likely to be the first of many hearings — this will be a long fight, but we’re ready. Join us Thursday at 10am in the Arizona State Senate building, Room 109.
Details on the bills being heard on Thursday:
🚫 SB 1032 would make voting harder for the 75% of Arizonans who are on the vote by mail list, as well as lengthening lines for everyone
🚫 SB 1046 and 🚫 SB 1072 would replace an existing voter ID requirement with an older, less secure method of proving identity
Last week, we launched the Arizona Voters Bill of Rights — a proactive effort to inform Arizonans of their rights as voters and ensure those rights are protected by law, as well as defend against attacks on voting.
