It’s a rough time for many of us. While we work to create positive change in our world, it helps to take care of our inner lives,to stay balanced, and to find the resilience to keep moving forward. LD18 Democrats are providing an opportunity to work on that with a professional.
After you spend the morning canvassing, come to our office to renew your spirit and learn some skills to get through each day.
TOPIC: Cultivating Resilience for Mindful Resistance
– Learn mindfulness skills including self awareness, motivation, resilience, empathy and compassion to sustain our work
– Learn how to acknowledge and channel difficult emotions in the work that we do
– Learn to connect with others with opposing political views and agendas
Who: Sam Javelosa is a mindfulness practitioner, coach and business professional who teaches others to cultivate mindfulness based emotional intelligence to navigate the challenges of work and life. He worked for justice and peace and was a political prisoner during the Marcos dictatorship in the Philippines. He has practiced Western and Eastern wisdom practices for decades and has worked with U.S. corporate organizations for over 35 years. He has taught mindfulness to leaders and individuals in the U.S., India, and Germany.
