Citizens’ Climate Lobby Inaugural Meeting

September 14 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Did you know in 2018, the Valley of the Sun experienced 128 days of 100 degree heat or greater? Are you worried about our warming world? Not sure what you can do? A well respected and well-known climate scientist, Katherine Hayhoe, says the best thing we can do about climate change is talk about it! Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) wants to talk about it.

The state of Arizona has 9 Congressional Districts and it is CCL’s goal to have a chapter in each district. Towards that effort an inaugural meeting for Congressional District 05 has been scheduled. This is a great opportunity for you to use your voice to make a positive difference in finding solutions to our very real climate crisis. Also invited are CCL volunteers from CD04 who live near the boundary of CD05. We need all hands on deck to support and work towards passage of the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, H.R. 763.

This first meeting of this new Far East Valley CCL Chapter will be held on September 14, 10:00 – 12:00 in the Roadrunner Room at the Red Mountain Library (6837, 635 N Power Rd, Mesa, AZ 85205). This is a great opportunity to meet others and learn more about CCL. There are many ways you can get involved in climate advocacy, and we will talk about them at this meeting. Every voice is important and necessary to keep ours a livable world.
