Breaking the Silence Dance by GLSEN Phoenix
April 20 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
**THIS IS AN EVENT FOR STUDENTS GRADES 9-12 LIVING IN MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA ONLY**
GLSEN’s Day of Silence is a student-led national event where students take a vow of silence to highlight the silencing and erasure of LGBTQ+ people at school. No student should feel silenced or unseen, especially because of their gender identity or sexual orientation.
To break this silence, GLSEN Phoenix is throwing its biggest and loudest GSA Prom on Saturday, April 20th, 2019! Celebrate “Universal Love” at our Glow in the Dark Space Dance. GSA high school students from all across the Greater Phoenix Area will dance the night away with a live DJ, photo booth, food, awards, and prizes for only $5! Students will also have the chance to learn about local support organizations, and sign up for GLSEN Phoenix programs like the SHINE Student Leadership Institute!
Want to attend but concerned about needing a break in the middle of all the excitement? Our partner onenten is sponsoring the “Universal Chill Space” in their Youth Center located inside the Parsons Center. Students can relax and take a break from the big excitement of the dance if they need to, and enjoy a quieter space with board games, video games, and more.
Want to join the After Party festivities and automatically be entered into a raffle drawing? Then check out the VIP tickets. The After Party includes after-hours entrance to Fair Trade Cafe (just across the street from Parsons) from 10-11pm.
